Description
What is vitamin K?
Vitamin K is a group of essential vitamins that can be divided into K1 (phylloquinone) and K2 (menaquionone or menaquinone).
What are the functions of vitamin K in the human body?
It primarily plays a very important role in the blood clotting process. However, studies have shown that the functions are far more diverse. For example, vitamin K is also important for the utilisation of calcium. Calcium is an important factor in cardiovascular health and bone health. A vitamin K deficiency can lead to a loss of calcium and thus reduce bone density. Studies have shown that vitamin K2 helps maintain bone density.
Vitamin K2 can also significantly reduce the risks of vascular damage. The Rotterdam study showed that a high intake of vitamin K2 has a strong influence on cardiovascular health.
What is special about our vitamin K2 capsules?
Our raw material MenaQ-7 is naturally obtained through fermentation. Through this process, vitamin K2 is obtained as long-chain menaquinone-7.
Many food supplements on the market with vitamin K1 and synthetic vitamin K2 (as menaquinone-4) are almost completely absorbed already 2 hours after ingestion. Menaquinone-4 is no longer detectable in the circulation after about 8 hours. Vitamin K2 as long-chain menaquinone-7, on the other hand, remains in the bloodstream for up to 72 hours!
